A long hot summer

This weekend was hot. Over 95 degrees at points and I loved it. Nothing makes me happier than a sweltering summer day. Ruel and I went to the Angel City Drive In to enjoy the warm balmy night, gnosh on some good food from Whole Foods and see Hedwig. I'm hoping for a HOT summer. (Note that the loud hum at the top of the clip is the background music. It will drop away)

Back to basics

Now that summer is here, we're getting back to our routine of filling our weekends with as many activities as possible. We stopped by our favorite breakfast joint and it was nice to be greated with, "Welcome back. You guys haven't been here in a long time." They event have new menus at Millies. Then we bought comics, drooled on computers at Best Buy, took a nap, attended some open houses, and went to the drive in. I love weekend in LA. I think my favorte part was the iced coffee since it was 92 degrees.

New camera

I finally got a new camera. I've been hemming and hawing so long that a whole new release of cameras came out and I had to start researching again. The big quandry was quality vs. convenience. I sided with convenience so I can have a camera in my pocket all the time to capture spontaneous moments.

Now I have no more excuses about being more creative and blogging. This mural is on the loft next to our building.

Ramen - Eat it up yum!

Daikokuya in Little Tokyo is one of those places that fills your soul and belly with warm soupy goodness.

Hula at the Cherry Blossom Festival

We had a jam packed weekend. The hula was just one of the little soothing gems.
